An Open Day will be held across all four campuses in Malaysia for parents and students who want to learn more about Fairview International School and its unique rewards on offer. The open days will be held across Fairview’s campuses in Kuala Lumpur, Subang Jaya, Johor Barhu and Penang from 10.00am to 4.00pm , to exhibit this forward thinking and innovative education to interested parents and students. For the first time in Malaysia, a Mandarin Primary Years Programme (Mandarin PYP) will be offered to students entering grades 1 to 4 in Fairview Kuala Lumpur and Subang campuses, starting in August 2013. The only programme of its kind in Malaysia, using Mandarin as the medium of instruction, incorporates the same IB curriculum as the English PYP while integrating the traditions and values of 5000 years of Chinese, language, history and culture. In addition, these children have the opportunity to collaborate with students in the English PYP for non-core subjects, equating to the students language acquisition of 60% in Mandarin and 40% in English. This unique structure enables the Mandarin PYP students to then easily transition into Fairview’s Middle Years Programme (MYP) which is taught in English.
