Bhd. recently launched a new, innovative food product – Biogrow ^® Oat BG22™ Crispy Cereal in early April . Now , 3 g of oat beta-glucan for cholesterol-lowering is available in crispy cereal form!

During the launch, Mr. L.H. Ong, CEO of Legosan (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. and General Manager of Summit Company (M) Sdn. Bhd., shared his concerns about the rising cholesterol levels of Malaysians, which correlates to an alarming number of strokes and heart attack cases in the country. That being said, Mr. Ong hopes that the launch of the oat bran cereal will help raise public awareness of high cholesterol levels in the Malaysian population while promoting healthier lifestyle choices to all.

At the event, Mr. Ong also presented a mock cheque of RM 175,000 to Yayasan Jantung Malaysia (The Heart Foundation of Malaysia) which was received by Datuk Dr J.S. Sambhi, Founder and Chairman of the foundation. In conjunction with YJM’s efforts of educating the public about heart diseases, Datuk Sambhi praised Legosan’s efforts in promoting Biogrow ^® Oat BG22™ Crispy Cereal in the market as he believes that the product is a safe and drug free way to help reduce cholesterol levels while helping Malaysians live a healthier life.

Also present at the launch was Mr. Ruedi Duss, the global Business Manager for OatWell® at DSM Nutritional Products, who highlighted the research/ clinical studies behind OatWell® oat bran and the health benefits associated with the newly launched product. According to Mr. Duss,  having one packet (30 g) of Biogrow ^® Oat BG22™ Crispy Cereal allows one to consume the daily recommended intake of 3 grams of oat beta-glucan that has been scientifically proven to lower cholesterol levels, control glucose levels, and aid in maintaining gut health and a healthy weight.

Biogrow ^® Oat BG22™ Crispy Cereal , delicious, crunchy heart-shaped crisps made from Swedish oat bran is fully made in Germany with sophisticated processing technology. One single packet (30 g) provides 3 g oat beta-glucan and is also high in dietary fiber (6.6 g per packet), high in protein, iron and magnesium. In terms of energy, one packet (30g) provides only 102 Calories (or kcal). It can be eaten directly as a convenient snack in between meals and can also be added into cold, low fat milk or yogurt.
