We often hear the quote "prevention is better than cure,” which could not be emphasized more when it comes to airborne, viral, and infectious diseases. Suppose you are maintaining essential services or preparing for the opening or re-starting of your business. In that case, a high level of hygiene is now recognized as essential to contain the disease and allow operations or activities to return to normal. It is vital to take precautions in order to protect the people who use your premises, including employees, visitors, and members of the public.

Therefore, in response to the Covid-19 pandemic crisis, The Majlis Tindakan Pengguna Negara (MTPN), led by YBhg. Dato Paduka Dr Kevy Yeo, President of MTPN has introduced a corporate social responsibility (CSR) campaign called “JOM! Cegah Covid-19” and MTPN Tabung Bantuan Cegah Covid Negara. This campaign aligns perfectly with MTPN’s vision and mission, which is to solve problems that affect consumers and traders and improve the public’s well-being and quality of life.

According to YBrs. Dr David Ng Kung Wei, Deputy President of MTPN, the “JOM! Cegah Covid-19” campaign and MTPN Tabung Bantuan Cegah Covid Negara was introduced with the aim of mitigating the Covid-19 cases, assisting the government, and bringing awareness to the community on the importance of disinfecting your surroundings and reducing cross-contamination from environmental surfaces. In this campaign, MTPN collaborates with the local authorities to provide disinfection services at business premises throughout Malaysia. This CSR effort was done to ease the burden of traders affected by the pandemic. This campaign is also approved by the Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia. MTPN and WCPCC hopes more corporates and individuals would come forward to support and contribute to the MTPN Tabung Bantuan Cegah Covid Negara to make this campaign a success.

“Usually business premises that are located in a low-cost area and locations that do not have a community group, it is highly unlikely that they would hire a sanitization service for the area. This campaign’s motif is to assist them in providing them with disinfection services through sponsorship. We do hope more organizations can reach out to us for such CSR program,” Dr. Moses Wong, President of WCPCC and Head of MTPN EXCO Pembangunan Usahawan said.

“JOM! Cegah Covid-19” campaign is currently being actively carried out by all MTPN staff, representatives, and MTPN volunteers in 67 branches throughout Malaysia. The disinfection services through sponsorship are carried out on business premises, welfare homes, educational centres, schools, and government buildings.

Recently Majlis Tindakan Pengguan Negara (MTPN) and it’s affiliate World Consumers’ Protection Chamber of Commerce (WCPCC) collaborated together and conducted a CSR program in Malaysiakini’s Petaling Jaya office. On Saturday, they provided disinfection service for the whole building and awarded CSR certificates to Malaysiakini’s representative.

MTPN came out with a Disinfection Machine and a Liquid Disinfectant sourced from Tea Tree Oil to consumers and traders who are interested. The lightweight machine and the liquid disinfectant can be used in their premises, houses, and even in cars to prevent viruses and bacteria from circulating.

The disinfection procedure is straightforward. First, you need to pour the disinfectant liquid into the disinfection machine container and turn on the switch. When it is thoroughly heated, the machine will spray smoke vapour to disinfect. The liquid disinfectant contains 100% pure Australian Tea Tree Oil, alcohol-free, paraben-free, and it is a bleach-free formula that would effectively kill 99.99% germs on both hard and soft surfaces within 15 seconds.

A fine mist protects over and under all objects, so everything your employees and customers touch is disinfected and deodorized to clinically clean standards. Apart from sanitizing the place, this disinfection also acts as a mosquito repellent.

The disinfection set comes with the machine and two bottles of tea tree oil containing 1000 milliliters each, and the set costs RM 600. If you are interested in purchasing the set to ensure a sanitized and sterile surrounding, you can head to the MTPNs offices.

MTPN consistently demonstrates its commitment to CSR initiatives. This shows that they are passionate not only about their work but also about the people around them. For more information and enquiry about JOM! Cegah Covid-19, head over to this google form or email at inquiry.kl@mtpn.org.my
