KUALA LUMPUR, 3 June 2025 – UEM Sunrise Berhad (“UEM Sunrise” or the “Company”) today announced the appointment of Azmy Mahbot as Chief Business Officer, effective 1 June 2025. The appointment marks a significant step in the Company’s ongoing transformation, underscoring its commitment to strengthening its leadership bench, enhancing execution capabilities and delivering long-term value to shareholders.

Azmy assumes a key leadership role in driving UEM Sunrise’s long-term growth strategy, overseeing high-impact portfolios such as Business Development, Joint Venture Management, Strategic Land, Corporate Strategy and Sustainability.

Prior to this, Azmy served as Head of Financial Controller for UEM Sunrise, where he was instrumental in enhancing financial discipline and driving enterprise-wide improvements. In his new role, he will focus on unlocking new growth opportunities across the Company’s landbank, partnership and business development ecosystems.

Azmy brings with him more than 25 years of experience in corporate finance, investor relations and strategic planning. Over the years, he has played a pivotal role in several of UEM Sunrise’s key milestones including the listing of UEM Land Holdings Berhad on Bursa Malaysia in 2008, the landmark merger with Sunrise Berhad in 2011, and the formation of strategic joint ventures such as Horizon Hills with Gamuda Land and Nusajaya Tech Park with CapitaLand.
