ISKANDAR PUTERI, 19 August 2025 – Asia’s iconic obstacle course race, the Viper Challenge, is heading south to UEM Sunrise Berhad’s (“UEM Sunrise” or the “Company”) flagship waterfront destination, Puteri Harbour in Johor this 23 to 24 August 2025.
Over 3,000 participants from Johor, Klang Valley, Singapore and around the region, are expected to take on adrenaline-pumping courses combining trail running, mud and water, spanning 7km, 12km and 21km, with up to 25 world-class obstacles.

In addition, 6,000 visitors are expected to throng the waterfront destination to witness the action as this year’s edition raises the bar with five brand-new obstacles built to challenge even the fiercest athletes.
This year, the sought-after obstacle race introduces a safe and action-packed mini obstacle course for children aged four to 13, and a timed Elite Category for podium finishers, bringing true competition to top-tier athletes.

With a 12-year legacy and over 350,000 past participants, the Viper Challenge has cemented its position as Asia’s biggest and most recognisable obstacle-based event series. Since its debut in 2013, it has drawn crowds from across the region, with past locations including Genting Highlands, Port Dickson, Putrajaya and Sentosa Island in Singapore.
Hafizuddin Sulaiman, Officer-in-Charge and Chief Financial Officer of UEM Sunrise said, “We are excited to welcome Viper Challenge to Iskandar Puteri. As the master developer of Iskandar Puteri, we envisioned Puteri Harbour as a vibrant hub that brings people together. The Viper Challenge embodies this spirit by promoting fitness, wellness and active lifestyles for communities and organisations across all backgrounds.”
“By welcoming the Viper Challenge, we are creating memorable experiences while showcasing Iskandar Puteri’s township potential as a premier destination for active living,” added Hafizuddin.

The event reflects UEM Sunrise’s placemaking agenda and commitment to building sustainable, connected communities. In line with the Company’s vision of “building a community of the future with you and for you”, the Viper Challenge at Puteri Harbour underscores its focus on creating vibrant, self-sustained townships that promote active and healthy lifestyles.
