SJK(C) Serdang Baru 2 successfully held its “SB2 Superhero Run 3.0” on 22 August 2026, receiving strong support from parents, students, alumni, members of the public and the corporate sector.

The charity run, which initially set a fundraising target of RM300,000, successfully raised RM350,000, exceeding the original target by RM50,000.

The school said the achievement not only represents the successful fulfilment of its fundraising target, but also reflects the strong support and confidence of parents, students, alumni and the wider business community towards the school’s educational development.

The funds raised will be used towards the construction of a permanent open-air Sports Pavilion, which will provide students, parents and visitors with a more comfortable, safe and sheltered space for school activities and sporting events.

Two Elected Representatives Attend and Lead Flag-Off Ceremony

The event received strong support from community leaders, with YB Yeo Bee Yin, Member of Parliament for Puchong, and YB Tuan Abbas Salimmi bin Che Adzmi, State Assemblyman for Seri Serdang, attending the event.

Both elected representatives delivered speeches and officiated the flag-off ceremony, joining students, parents and members of the public in witnessing the community event.

Their presence further reflected the attention and support given by the community towards education, school development and the improvement of school facilities.

Parents and Students Played a Key Role in RM350,000 Fundraising Achievement

According to the school, a significant portion of the funds raised came through the Jogathon Cards distributed to students and parents.

Behind every jogathon card was the effort of students who actively approached their relatives, friends and members of the community for support, together with parents who actively participated in and supported the school’s fundraising efforts.

The school said the contribution and efforts of parents and students were instrumental in helping the fundraising campaign exceed its original RM300,000 target and reach RM350,000.

The achievement also demonstrated the strong sense of unity among the school’s three key organisations, parents, students, alumni and the wider community.

Among the major contributors towards the Sports Pavilion project were Li Jie Shan and Deng Jing Jing couple, who jointly donated RM100,000.

The school said the future Sports Pavilion will serve as an important facility for students’ daily activities, sporting events and major school programmes, while also serving as a lasting reminder of the community’s support for education.

The fundraising campaign also received support from various companies, businesses and members of the public, including Kao Feng Optical, HealthLane Pharmacy, CityStays, Xiang Ji Seafood and Winfar Sdn Bhd, among others.

The school expressed its appreciation to all donors and sponsors, regardless of whether their contributions were made in the form of cash, goods, prizes or other forms of support.

Companies and Individuals Contribute Prizes and Event Supplies

In addition to monetary contributions, the charity run also received substantial support in the form of prizes, beverages, food, participant gifts and event supplies.

Among the companies and individuals who contributed were Nestlé Malaysia, Dutch Lady Milk Industries Berhad, Spritzer Berhad, Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd, Dato Javern Lim, Dynabook Malaysia, FitArch, Sins Goods Enterprise, MaK Kee Wan Tan Mee, Chee Ming, S&J Singing Academy and First Care Pest Control Services, as well as other supporting organisations and individuals.

Dutch Lady contributed 4,000 packs of UHT Chocolate drinks, while Spritzer contributed 1,200 bottles of beverages.

Dato Javern Lim contributed 1,400 eco-friendly bags to be used as participant gift bags.

Meanwhile, Proaktif Media Sdn Bhd contributed 1,300 sets of medals and lanyards valued at RM20,260, as well as sponsoring plaques for VIPs and sponsors.

The school said such contributions, whether financial or in kind, played an important role in making the event a success.

Nearly 60 Years of History, 55 Classrooms Fully Upgraded

Alongside the Sports Pavilion project, SJK(C) Serdang Baru 2 has also been actively improving its school environment.

Established nearly 60 years ago, the school has been progressively carrying out classroom upgrading works to provide students with a more comfortable and conducive learning environment.

To date, 55 classrooms have been fully upgraded, giving the school campus a refreshed and improved appearance.

The classroom upgrading project received support from several individuals and organisations, including:

  • YB Yeo Bee Yin, Member of Parliament for Puchong — RM100,000

  • IOIPG Foundation — RM50,000

  • Mr Ong Beng Wah — donation of tiles required for classroom upgrading

  • SK Kaken (M) Sdn Bhd — donation of paint

The school said these contributions have not only improved its physical facilities, but have also directly benefited students by providing them with a more comfortable and suitable learning environment.

In conjunction with the SB2 Superhero Run 3.0, the school also held an appreciation ceremony to recognise individuals, companies and organisations that have supported the school’s development and the charity run.

During the event, YB Yeo Bee Yin presented a RM100,000 mock cheque to the school in support of its ongoing efforts to improve school facilities.

The school expressed hope that continued support from the community would be translated into tangible improvements that benefit current and future generations of students.

Three School Organisations Work Together to Strengthen the SB2 Community

The school also extended its appreciation to its three key organisations — the Board of Management, Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and Alumni Association — for working closely together throughout the planning and implementation of the event.

From fundraising and event planning to venue arrangements, volunteer coordination and operations on the day itself, the successful event would not have been possible without the collective efforts of the three organisations, teachers, parents, alumni, students, volunteers and members of the community.

The SB2 Superhero Run 3.0 was more than just a charity run. It was a collective effort by the SB2 community to create a better school environment for its students.

From every jogathon card and donation, to every volunteer, every upgraded classroom and the future Sports Pavilion, each contribution represents another step towards building a better environment for the students of SJK(C) Serdang Baru 2.

SJK(C) Serdang Baru 2 extends its deepest appreciation and gratitude to all individuals, organisations, companies and members of the community who have contributed, supported and stood alongside the school in its development efforts.
