In conjunction with the seventh lunar month, known also as the Gratitude Month, Nirvana Asia Group has launched the “Kids Have You” student education crowdfunding campaign during its annual Zhongyuan Enlightenment Ceremony. The initiative calls on the public to extend compassion by helping raise 3,000 sets of school supplies for underprivileged students across 159 Chinese primary schools in the Klang Valley, enabling children to welcome the new school year with joy and peace of mind.

Nirvana Asia Group Founder and Executive Chairman, Tan Sri Kong Hon Kong, stated at the ceremony,

“Nirvana Group has always placed great importance on the development of Chinese education,” he said, “Education is a vital force that changes children’s futures and forms the foundation for society’s progress. Beyond giving back to society, we hope to leverage our corporate influence to inspire more people to care about children’s education and growth.”

Through this campaign, Nirvana Group seeks to gather goodwill from society, providing tangible support to students in need, and extending the power of philanthropy into every corner of the community.

One school starter set for every RM100 donation

For families facing financial hardship, school supplies can be a significant burden. As the new school year approaches, beyond academic preparation, the need for basic learning essentials becomes a challenge for some households.

The “Kids Have You” campaign offers a simple way to respond: for every RM100 donated, Nirvana Asia Group will deliver a complete school starter set to a student in need across 159 Chinese primary schools in the Klang Valley. Each set includes one school bag, one pair of school shoes, two sets of uniform, two pairs of socks, and a small card handwritten by the donor.

Through this card, donors give more than material support — they also send encouragement and blessings. As the new school year begins, children will feel genuine care from society, carrying with them both supplies and heartfelt encouragement.

The Group pledges to fulfil every hope

Even though the RM100 donation amount may not fully cover the actual cost of each school starter set, Nirvana Asia Group shoulders the difference so that more people can contribute and take part in this meaningful act of kindness. This ensures that every child receives not just school supplies, but a complete package of care and support.

Furthermore, to ensure no child’s hope is left unfulfilled, Nirvana Asia Group pledges that if the campaign ends without reaching the target of 3,000 sets, or if schools still have more students in need, the Group will cover the remaining quantity in full. This guarantees that every beneficiary student receives their school supplies on time, ready to embrace the new school term with peace of mind.

Supported by schools to ensure care reaches intended target

This campaign has received strong cooperation from Chinese primary schools, with school authorities assisting in providing beneficiary student lists to ensure that every set of school supplies reaches the children who truly need them.

Nirvana Asia Group calls on the public to actively participate in the “Kids Have You” crowdfunding campaign, adding support to children’s educational journey. The Group believes that every donation is not only a timely response to children’s immediate needs, but also a warm force that accompanies them as they grow.

This kindness may plant a seed of gratitude in their hearts, so that when they have the ability in the future, they too will give back love and compassion to society — allowing warmth to continue and the cycle of goodness to be passed on for generations.

RM50,000 allocated to the Malaysian National Union of Heads of Schools

Nirvana Asia Group has long been committed to supporting the development of Chinese education. In addition to its annual allocation of RM30,000 to the Selangor Chinese Primary School Principals’ Council for organising 12 academic competitions, this year the Group also presented a RM50,000 mock cheque at Nirvana Memorial Park (Semenyih) to the Malaysian National Union of Heads of Schools. The funds will support nationwide principals’ exchanges, training, and organizational development — a continued effort to strengthen education through concrete action.

The Enlightenment Ceremony: Tradition meets social welfare

“Since 1995, Nirvana Asia Group has consistently held Zhongyuan Enlightenment Ceremonies every seventh lunar month at our memorial parks, following local religious customs in various forms and scales,” Tan Sri Kong Hon Kong further explained, “We believe the ceremony is not only a place to dedicate merits to ancestors, but also a meaningful occasion to pass down Chinese cultural traditions and filial piety.”

In recent years, the Group has integrated social issues and charitable initiatives into the assemblies, promoting care and education through themed campaigns such as “A Pack of Rice, An Act of Charity”, “Zero Bullying, Sweeter Schools”, and “Compassion Above Conflict, United in Prayer for Peace”. These efforts ensure the Enlightenment Ceremony continues the spirit of filial piety and remembrance, while also becoming a platform for social compassion and collective good — teaching respect, inclusiveness, and gratitude through ritual.

“We hope to use the influence and reach of the company to draw more attention to the challenges the world faces, while encouraging people to cherish what they already have,” Tan Sri Kong elaborated.

The first week’s event at Nirvana Memorial Park (Shah Alam) received enthusiastic support and response from the public.
