EvoPoint drives Microsoft-powered transformation for SMEs
In an increasingly digital-first economy, businesses are no longer asking whether they should adopt cloud and AI solutions, but how quickly they can do so without disrupting operations.
For Malaysian technology firm EvoPoint Sdn Bhd, that urgency has shaped more than a decade of work helping organisations modernise through Microsoft-powered ecosystems. Established in 2011 and headquartered in Puchong, Selangor, Evopoint has evolved from a back-end implementation support provider into a full-fledged Microsoft solutions partner delivering cloud transformation, automation and AI enablement across SMEs, mid-market firms and large enterprises.
“We are a Microsoft-focused solutions company. Our work covers implementation, deployment, and development from Microsoft 365 setup and email migration to cloud transformation and automation,” said Managing Director Kalvin Chua.

With a deep background in Microsoft technologies, Kalvin focused on aligning Evopoint’s technical direction with real-world business needs. He recognised early on that many organisations struggled not because they lacked tools, but because solutions were implemented without a clear understanding of operational pain points.
Today, Evopoint specialises in end-to-end Microsoft ecosystem integration. This includes a comprehensive suite of services, including custom software development, workflow automation, cloud integration, network security and business process management, which is further complemented by training and consultancy.
Kalvin played a central role in standardising solution architectures across Microsoft 365, Azure, Dynamics 365, Power Platform and SharePoint, enabling the team to deliver consistent, secure and scalable implementations. As an authorised reseller of Microsoft Surface and Jabra, Evopoint further strengthened its ability to provide end-to-end modern workplace solutions.
The company holds Microsoft Solutions Partner designations across Modern Work, Business Applications, Data and AI, and Infrastructure, reflecting its capabilities across the Microsoft ecosystem.
EvoPoint’s journey began through early collaboration within Microsoft-led projects, eventually progressing from a support role for licensing providers into a direct solution partner working closely with clients and Microsoft itself.
“We started as a backend support team for larger service providers, almost like a project factory,” Kalvin said. “But over time, through close collaboration with Microsoft and enterprise projects, we transitioned into a full solution partner serving customers directly.”
That shift marked a turning point, which is moving the company from execution support into strategic digital transformation consulting.
A growing part of its portfolio now centres on artificial intelligence. EvoPoint runs Copilot adoption programmes, AI training, and organisational change management initiatives, alongside development work to build custom AI agents tailored to business operations.
“We help customers build their own AI agents for internal use to improve productivity, decision-making, and workflow efficiency,” Kalvin explained.
Why SME100 mattered

EvoPoint’s participation in the SME100 Awards was driven less by recognition alone and more by strategic positioning in an increasingly crowded technology landscape.
Although the company already holds ISO 27001 certification, Kalvin noted that credentials like these are not always visible during the pre-sales stage. In many cases, trust is only built after the first client engagement, making early visibility and credibility more important than ever.
He was direct about the rationale. “Awareness and credibility are critical,” he said. “In business, people need to know who we are before they even speak to us.”
With that in mind, EvoPoint had received numerous award invitations over the years, but approached each one carefully, weighing its credibility and relevance before deciding to participate. SME100 ultimately stood out for its strong industry standing and proven track record.
“This is our first awards participation. We chose SME100 because it offers genuine industry recognition, not just visibility for visibility’s sake,” he said.
Beyond SME100, EvoPoint views awards as part of a broader growth strategy that reinforces market presence as it scales its capabilities in cloud infrastructure, automation and AI-driven systems.
Kalvin noted that recognition plays a supporting role in shaping external perception, particularly in competitive technology markets where differentiation is often intangible.
“Recognition matters because it signals to the market that we are established and reliable,” he said. “But trust is ultimately built through delivery, consistency and results.”
As SMEs across the region accelerate their shift towards AI-driven operations, EvoPoint positions itself at the intersection of cloud infrastructure and intelligent systems, helping organisations move beyond digitisation towards operational transformation.
From digital adoption to AI governance
Looking ahead, EvoPoint sees the next three to five years being defined by a shift from basic AI adoption to operational execution, where tools no longer simply respond to prompts but actively perform tasks within business workflows.
Kalvin noted that while many organisations are still experimenting with fragmented, task-specific tools, the next phase of AI will be more integrated and outcome-driven.
“We are moving beyond question-and-answer AI. The next phase is about actionable agents that can execute workflows, integrate processes, and deliver real outcomes,” he said.
This transition, he explained, reflects a broader shift away from siloed applications towards more centralised, intelligent systems that embed directly into business operations.
Regional expansion across Singapore and East Malaysia
EvoPoint is accelerating its regional expansion beyond Malaysia, with plans to strengthen its presence in Singapore while scaling operations in East Malaysia, particularly Sabah.
As part of its broader digital transformation agenda, the company is engaging the private sector, SMEs and state-level stakeholders, while formalising its presence in Singapore this year to drive more active market engagement, engage direct customer relationships, and roll out targeted programmes.
In Malaysia, expansion efforts are also being extended to East Malaysia, where EvoPoint has begun working with SMEs and exploring collaborations with state authorities to support digital transformation initiatives.
He added that the company expects to engage across multiple states this year as part of its growth roadmap.
“We are expanding into East Malaysia, particularly Sabah, and expect to be active across two to three states this year, alongside our push into Singapore,” he said.
The dual-market strategy reflects EvoPoint’s intention to scale its cloud, automation and AI-driven solutions across both established and emerging digital ecosystems.
As EvoPoint continues to grow, it stands as a strong example of how purposeful leadership can empower teams, transform businesses, and create impact far beyond technology itself. With a clear vision and a hands-on approach, the company remains focused on helping organisations navigate digital transformation with confidence, clarity, and lasting results.
