What’s Next for the Green Economy? Find Out at IGEM & KLSS 2026
Southeast Asia is a region full of potential, with its biodiversity, growing markets and a strategic position in the global economy.
But it is also facing growing climate pressures, with Asia home to 99 of the world’s 100 most environmentally at-risk cities.
This is making the green transition more important than ever, opening up new possibilities for how the region grows, innovates and develops new industries. For Malaysia, this is where the country can help drive the conversation forward.
From October 7 to 9, 2026, the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition and Conference Malaysia (IGEM 2026) and Kuala Lumpur Sustainability Summit (KLSS 2026) will bring together businesses, policymakers, investors, innovators and sustainability leaders for three days of exhibitions, discussions, networking and business opportunities.
While IGEM highlights the technologies and solutions driving the green economy, KLSS looks at the policies, financing and partnerships needed to take those ideas further. Together, they offer a closer look at where Southeast Asia’s green transition is heading and where businesses and individuals can play a part.

Across the IGEM exhibition floor, visitors can explore a diverse range of green technologies, products, services and solutions, connect with exhibitors and industry experts, discover new business and investment opportunities and gain insights into practical approaches to the transition to a low-carbon, climate-resilient economy.
Climate solutions, built for a changing world
IGEM 2026 will bring together technologies, adaptation strategies and community-led ideas designed to help us prepare for a changing climate and respond to it.
Across the exhibition, key sectors including renewable energy, green mobility, circular economy, hydrogen, carbon management, sustainable finance and smart city solutions will take centre stage, reflecting the breadth of the green transition.
Where green ideas meet business
For businesses, one of the biggest draws is the Business Matching Hub, where solution providers can connect directly with buyers, investors and potential strategic partners.
Dedicated business matching sessions involving MIDA and MATRADE will also open doors to investment and export opportunities, while industry forums, networking sessions and exhibitor receptions provide more opportunities to exchange ideas and build connections.
The future of mobility is bigger than EVs
Sustainable transport is about more than switching from petrol to electric. The Sustainable Mobility Showcase will explore the wider ecosystem powering the future of mobility, from charging infrastructure, battery technologies, smart energy integration and emerging mobility solutions, reflecting the growing convergence between transportation, energy and digital technologies.
When sustainability meets style
For the first time, IGEM 2026 will introduce the Sustainable Lifestyle Showcase, bringing sustainability closer to everyday life through products and solutions spanning personal care, fashion, beauty and lifestyle.
Exhibitors include global beauty and cosmetics leaders L’Oréal Groupe, Body Shop, Fujifilm, Siti Khadijah, the Green Carpenter, circular products company Remadesia, and a diverse line-up of local and international sustainable fashion and lifestyle brands and designers.
On 8 October, the experience will extend to a fashion show produced by MTHEMOVEMENT KINGS, featuring local designer Rizman Ruzaini and international designer Derek Chelsia D, followed by a fireside chat with Dr Simplicio Michael Luis (“M”). The showcase explores how the fashion industry can embrace sustainability and circularity.
Visitors can also step into IGEM's Eco Cinemax, where short sustainability-focused films from independent filmmakers, government agencies, NGOs and social enterprises bring to life the people, ideas and stories behind real-world solutions.
Beyond the exhibition floor, visitors can engage with policymakers, industry leaders, academics, innovators and sustainability experts through Pocket Talks, Fireside Chats, Partner Forums and conferences, offering insights into emerging trends, technologies and opportunities across the green economy.
If IGEM is where you can see the solutions shaping a greener future, KLSS is where you can hear the conversations that could determine how far those solutions go.
KLSS: Conversations Driving Southeast Asia's Green & Sustainable Future
While IGEM showcases the technologies, products and innovations supporting the green economy, the Kuala Lumpur Sustainability Summit (KLSS) 2026 focuses on the policies, financing mechanisms and cross-sector partnerships required to accelerate sustainable development.
Bringing together policymakers, business leaders, investors and sustainability practitioners, KLSS offers an inside look at Malaysia's evolving climate agenda, practical approaches to implementing sustainability strategies, and emerging opportunities in green finance and carbon markets. More importantly, it provides a platform for collaboration, investment and meaningful dialogue on pathways towards a net-zero future.
Day 1: Policy, Energy Transition & Sustainable Finance
The summit opens by examining the foundations of Malaysia’s climate transition, from climate policy and national carbon wealth to sustainable finance and the country's energy transition.
The opening keynote, Beyond Pledges: Mobilising Malaysia’s 2026 Climate Mandate, will feature Datuk Wira Anis Rizana Mohd Zainudin, Secretary General of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, who will discuss Malaysia’s climate policy direction, regulatory reforms and preparations for COP31.
As businesses look beyond carbon, the impact of nature on long-term business is becoming harder to ignore. Ms Ezrin Johanna Bt Elias, General Manager (Nature COE & Solutions), Corporate Sustainability of PETRONAS, will share how PETRONAS is responding to nature-related risks and opportunities, and how nature considerations are being integrated into business decision-making.
Other sessions will explore how to integrate nature-related finance into business strategies, and how carbon monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) can turn emissions data into economic value and investment opportunities.
The programme will also examine the role of green sukuk and sustainable Islamic finance in mobilising climate capital for Malaysia’s energy transition. Bringing together representatives from Tenaga Nasional Berhad, Tadau Energy and HSBC Bank Malaysia, the discussion will explore how innovative financing mechanisms can support renewable energy projects and accelerate decarbonisation efforts across the economy.
Day 2: Adaptation, Resilience & Sectoral Action
On day 2, the summit turns its focus towards environmental conservation and climate resilience, exploring the role of leadership in protecting forests and national heritage, while examining adaptation strategies for ASEAN's coastal cities and agricultural sectors in the face of rising sea levels and climate change.
A key highlight of the day is In Conversations with National Stewards, featuring His Highness the Crown Prince of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj.
The session will begin with an exclusive screening of Penjaga Gunung, a short film highlighting the connection between environmental stewardship, community participation and the protection of Malaysia's natural landscapes. The screening will be followed by a conversation on leadership, conservation and intergenerational responsibility in safeguarding Malaysia's environmental heritage.
Moderated by Melissa Tan, the session will explore the role of constitutional leadership in environmental conservation, forest protection and disaster resilience, as well as the importance of safeguarding the nation's natural heritage for future generations.
Beyond national leadership, the summit will also bring international and regional perspectives to the discussion on climate adaptation and resilience. A dedicated session will examine how coastal cities and agricultural systems can strengthen their resilience against rising temperatures, changing weather patterns, and sea-level rise.
Bringing an international perspective to the summit, Blánaid Sheeran, Senior Manager of the International Climate Change Committee (UK), will share insights from her experience in climate diplomacy, climate risk governance and net-zero policy implementation, offering valuable lessons for ASEAN's climate transition.
Day 3: Social Equity, Impact & Planetary Health
The final day shifts the focus to the human dimension of sustainability, exploring how social protection, retirement security, workforce resilience and youth participation can contribute to a more equitable and sustainable future.
Among the featured speakers is Vellarry May, founder of Sabah-based social enterprise Oupus Organics. Through biotechnology and native Bornean botanicals, she has built a sustainable skincare business while creating livelihood opportunities for B40 women, single mothers and indigenous communities.
The summit will also spotlight the views of Malaysia’s younger generation through a session featuring UNICEF Malaysia, which will discuss key findings from the 2025 National Youth Climate Change Survey, and what Malaysian youth are saying about climate risks, participation and the country’s climate future.
The summit will conclude with a broader perspective on the relationship between human wellbeing and environmental sustainability. Dr Courtney Howard, Chair of the Global Climate and Health Alliance, will speak in a discussion on building a society where people and the planet thrive.
Together, the three-day programme brings climate policy, sustainable finance, technology, conservation and social impact into one conversation, highlighting the importance of cross-sector collaboration in translating sustainability commitments into meaningful action.
Why should you join this conversation?
Whether you are a policymaker, investor, entrepreneur, student or sustainability practitioner, IGEM & KLSS 2026 offer a unique opportunity to understand the forces shaping the green economy. For first-time visitors, the key is to come with an open mind and see sustainability as more than an environmental agenda.
IGEM is a place to discover where the green economy is heading, from new technologies and emerging markets to investment and strategic collaboration. It is also a chance to meet the people behind that transition, whether industry players, entrepreneurs, policymakers, or fellow professionals, and learn how ESG and decarbonisation are being put into practice.
At KLSS, the discussion moves beyond solutions to the bigger questions shaping the transition, from climate policy and green finance to the decisions businesses must make to adapt and move forward.
For young professionals and students, it could even be a first glimpse into the careers taking shape in the green economy. You may arrive looking for ideas, but leave with a new connection, a new business possibility or a completely different view of where sustainability can take you.
Visitors can also enjoy special travel rates from Malaysia Airlines, Firefly, ERL Rail, and Grab, making travel to IGEM & KLSS 2026 more convenient and accessible for local and international visitors, exhibitors, and business delegates.
