COMMENT | Yesterday, our beloved Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak announced an allocation of RM5 million for Yayasan Prihatin of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

As a commission that is dedicated to combating corruption in the country, Najib is very clear of how the MACC officers work, day and night, in their fight against corruption. Hence he believes that it is vital to ensure the welfare of the MACC officers is well taken care of.

According to the prime minister, corruption is a big threat to our civilisation, society and the future of our country. Hence fighting corruption and power abuse are in line with the aspiration of every Malaysian to make Malaysia a better country. I applaud Najib for his great effort in recognising the hard work of the officers.

While many corrupt politicians around the world claim to fight corruption when their anti-corruption campaign is, in fact, a sideshow to distract the people from the unimaginative policies of their corrupt administrations, we are lucky indeed to have a prime minister who is genuine in intent - although clueless in execution.

Why do I say clueless, you ask?

Well, it is simply because I believe MACC deserves a better recognition than the 'cekodok' RM5 million awarded by Najib...
