
Lawyers call for check on ACAs arrest powers
A state Bar committee wants the attorney-general to review the Anti-Corruption Agency's (ACA) power to arrest following the latter's nabbing of two lawyers last month which the committee claims was arbitrary.
'The report was undated, and we have no knowledge who prepared it as there is no name or signature owning to it. What the prosecution has is a hearsay evidence (by the investigating officer) that it was prepared by Abdul Gani Patail (now the attorney-general),' says judge KN Segara.
