I refer to the letter Stimulus plan must have people's confidence .

To the people of Malaysiakini and the opposition parties (bar PAS), we Malaysians should thank them for telling us countless times we are falling over the cliff and into the jaws of recession.

Opposition politicians and Malaysiakini gives us a minute-by-minute commentary of the game and how bad we are going to end up. Any part the government plays, like stimulus plans and so on, are brushed aside as too little and too late. No mention of why they are to little or too late.

That’s not important for they must discredit the government not realising that it is the government of the day. Malaysiakini and the opposition have not thrown up any ideas or set up help centers.

After all we are going to need help soon if we believe everything they say. Now my fellow Malaysians, lets have a look at our mindset. We are all, or most of us, are ready to throw in the towel or at least wait for the worst.

But even in 1997 we struggled on and with the BN government's help survived though with some scars but all the same, we made it while some of our neighbors failed.

Malaysia was lucky, but not this time. This time we got someone heading a scheme to overthrow the government, or discredit it until it fails. What's more, we have the right ingredient now, political turmoil. Happy, guys?

So Malaysiakini and all opposition politicians, do not play politics with our fellow Malaysians’ lives. You can berate the ruling party but in the end we all suffer.

The people in my company, although lacking education, are aware of the scenario and they work harder and do more so that we can survive.

We are doing okay but every other day, I have to allay their fears. Why? Because they’re told by the anti-government media and opposition parties that we are ‘cooked’ and that the ruling government is lying to us.

This does not help my company when we need staff to be positive and not lie down and wait to die.

What a shame. The people we thought we can trust are instead trying their best to make the situation bad so that they can in the next GE, take over the government. But at what cost?

Editor’s Note: While we cannot speak for the opposition, Malaysiakini wishes to state that it is the role of the media to report accurately the true state of the country’s economy irrespective of whether it reflects poorly or admiringly on the ruling government.
