In his long winded 'Why spineless men put up with spiteful women' (Dec 19) Jeffrey rants about the evils of feminists. Why write such a long article, when your main points are:

1. Extreme feminism destabilizes familes

2. Mothers are emotionally marginalised

3. A woman's basic role in life is as a homemaker

4. Women's primary responsibility is to baby-sit

Jeffrey says that women are more adept at child-rearing. But that is only because since time immemorial men go out to work and uneducated women stay at home to baby-sit.

The mother-child bond is just as tangible as that of the father-child.

Jeffrey says that if a woman rejects her primary role as a homemaker in preference to career advancement, what reason remains for a man to marry her or remain married to her? I am appalled at such nonsense.

He says he unreservedly agrees with Dr MS 'Extreme feminism destabilises family system'(Dec 7) who strongly opposes feminism. Of course he does, the good 'ol doc paid compliments to his previous article.

Jeffrey and Dr MS have forgotten what drunks, philanderers and abusers are capable of doing.

If anything, it is chauvinistic men who bring about broken families and much misery to innocent children, and not feminists.

Jeffrey echoed the sentiment that overly liberated women are destined to be single. He says, if women are not a certain way, no man would want them. So what?.

According to Jeffrey and Dr MS, extreme feminism is a bad thing. How so? Man of quality should not feel threatened when women ask to be treated as equals.

Men like Jeffrey and Dr MS who fear the concept of equality puzzle me greatly.

Men expect women to be a rung below and not complain. Puhleeze! At the end of the day the one who brings home the bread is the one who makes the decisions.

Despite our efforts in organising the International Day Against Violence Against Women, there are many unfair penal codes concerning gender that are awaiting changes. And we are talking about basic human rights here. As such there is a lot more to be seen.

Jeffrey seems to harbour some kind of anger toward women. I wonder if he has been a victim to a predatory woman.
