Team A or Team B, MCA's still irrelevant
A friend of mine who is a frequent reader of malaysiakini asked me why I have not written anything on the recent MCA quarrel. I thought about it for a few weeks but still could not think of anything to write. Finally, after reading MGG Pillai's ' Malaise in a multiracial society
' (Dec 24), I realised why I could not write anything on MCA.It simply bores me. MCA is simply irrelevant. It does not represent the hopes of the Chinese, although we will see them screaming for the protection of Chinese rights, during election time. So whether Team A and Team B wins, who cares? Who benefits if Team A or Team B wins and gets to be the favourite "running dog" of Umno? Only they and their cronies.
I am reminded of a local MCA politician who was a guest of honour in one of my club's dinners. He gave a speech on how easy it was to be a politician.
Although this politician meant it to be a joke, many of us did not find it so and this politician never got invited back. He may now be a major beneficiary if his team wins.
