I refer to the Malaysiakini report Rosmah: I'm a human being too.

Many Malaysians will be relieved to read that Rosmah Mansor, the wife of Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, publicly claims that she is also a human being.

I am so glad that Rosmah is now coming out and talking about all those wild allegations that have brought her and her husband closer. Silence may be wrongly construed as consent.

Let's hope she throws some light on a dark deed and her ‘clear conscience’ may be able to illuminate us all.

Why not get the government to initiate an inquiry and exonerate yourselves, Rosmah ? Why let any mud stick? Why let the allegations be a millstone around your necks? After all the truth will prove you and your husband are innocent so go for it.

Go for a lie detector test, answer all the questions, prove your alibi and all important, let not only justice be done but be seen to be done. And you could sue any who dares to insinuate your guilt.

You can afford the best lawyers. Emulate Singapore's Lee Kuan Yew, he will sue anyone who defames him to their grave. Ask JB Jeyaratnam, sorry, I mean his son.

A clear conscience, unfortunately, is not a scientific or legal or even a reliable way to prove one's innocence. Consciences can be pricked or seared and we all know that the human heart is sick and quite prone to hypocrisy.

Our courts would not exist, and judges (even the ones that may not know how to spell the word justice) will not be happy if everyone was allowed to declare a clear conscience as proof of innocence.

If independent inquiries are a bother, why not volunteer to be a witness and answer all the questions? And let others judge for themselves.

Anyway, seriously the position of country leader is an onerous one and requires a person of impeccable moral character, someone beyond reproach.

Wasn't Anwar Ibrahim sacked because he was accused of having a deficiency in character? I thought that was the prerequisite to be a minister in Malaysia, to have an impeccable character but I was wrong.

Now the former 'godfather' himself has warned Najib, anxiously sitting in the waiting room to make the oath to serve the nation as its sixth prime minister, that he will be ousted if he appoints a cabinet of people with deficient character. That's news!

But wasn't Zaid Ibrahim sacked because he was a decent Malaysian of good character? Now I'm seriously confused.

I wonder if someone like Raja Petra Kamarudin who made a statutory declaration implicating the future prime minister and his wife in the murder Altantuya Shaaribuu is a human being also?

I wonder if he (or his loved ones) feels any emotional pain when separated from one another and RPK has to face all those serious charges and all that uncertainty of postponed trials and if he will get justice?

He is indeed Public Enemy Number One if the government has its way only if he isn't also the Royal People's Knight who says things we hate to hear but need to hear.

I wonder if the Hindraf 5 who still languish in ISA prison are human too? They are still alive while Kugan and many others have perished in prison, not really prison actually but under police care. And their wives and children who miss them 24/7?

What about the politicians in the opposition, someone like Teresa Kok who was put in the ISA jail for ‘her own protection’ or the Penang Sin Chew reporter who joined her at the same time?

I am so glad Rosmah has come out to declare she is human also because Malaysia needs someone with a human touch in Putrajaya, especially after much loved ‘work with me and not for me’ and ‘ tell me the truth’ Prime Minister Abdullah leaves the building.

It is good to know that Malaysia will have a First Lady who will put the country and the rakyat 's welfare first. By the way when did Malaysia have a president to have a First Lady?

So who really killed Altantuya Shaaribuu?
