I refer to the Malaysiakini report New media denied passes by ruling party .

The banning of six online media including Malaysiakini smacks of censorship. Najib Abdul Razak has the nerve to then say Umno should not treat the online media as adversary but he still supports the ban.

Pak Lah as usual didn't know about the ban and when told about it, did not do anything about it.

What is wrong with these people? On one hand they say one thing but do the opposite. You can't help but conclude they are not sincere. Why shoot the messenger?

Reporters doing their jobs properly have to report the truth. And reading about money being given to reporters is simply sick, sick, sick. Who else but the corrupt cartel of cronies would do that?

Journalists don't invent news. If Umno only wants newspapers to write nice things about its leaders, then it should just rely on its own newspapers that are better at churning out propaganda for their political masters.

It seems to me that Umno is simply resorting to blackmail and arm-twisting to coerce the banned media to toe its line in order to get invited to its events. This shows how foolish these people are. You would have thought they would have learned the lesson from March 8 but history repeats itself I guess.

The suggestion that Umno has the right to invite who it wants is rubbish. Umno is the country's most important political party because for now it dominates in government. So what happens at their assembly is of public interest and every newspaper has the right to report on what's going on.

Anyway why is Umno so afraid of the online media that they have to ban them? Why are they so afraid that the truth will be reported?

The fact these online media are getting more and more popular while the propaganda press owned by the politicians have lost their credibility is proof the rakyat wants independent news - not more rubbish from the prostituted press.

Banning those media that will report the news that matters and news that the public should know is stifling accurate media reporting.

Why be afraid of the truth? Why ban media that merely report the truth? Is Umno afraid of the truth being known? It is a sad day for media freedom and another step backwards for Umno. Shame on them.
