I refer to the Malaysiakini report 'State agency funded Khir's Disney tours' .

Why is the Special Select Committee on Competence, Accountability and Transparency (Selcat) making such an issue over ex-Selangor menteri besar Mohd Khir Toyo’s and his contingent’s visit to Orlando and the Paris Disneyland?

For years, the Malaysian public has been fed with the ‘ Lawatan sambil membelajar ’ line. What is wrong with that. Look at it from a practical viewpoint - he was the mentri besar of Selangor, the so call chief executive officer, the head honcho, the Man in Selangor.

I am sure if Selcat were to dig deeper, there must be a plan to bring Disneyland to Shah Alam. Let’s not be petty about him timing the trip during the school holidays and bringing his wife and family and maid along.

For such wholesome family entertainment like Disneyland, his wife and children will be able to assess whether the Disney concept is suitable for the Malaysian.

After all, you have to understand that we Malaysians are quite sensitive about some of the animal characters in Disneyland. Mice, ducks are okay but pigs as in Warner Brothers’ Porky Pig is definitely a no-no.

Now, the reconnaissance team was most definitely a must. Look fellow Malaysians, we are talking about the CEO of Selangor and his delegation, so certainly everything must be in proper order.

The recce team must ensure that the food are all kosher. Meeting with Mini and Mickey is, of course, a must and certainly they have to ensure that when they reach Sleeping Beauty’s castle, Beauty must be awake with Prince Charming.

You certainly cannot fault them as these are all part of the ‘ Lawatan sambil berbelajar ’ thing. I am sure all Malaysian are now interested to read the report made by the official delegation and their subsequent recommendations.

Some of you may be making noise on whether the maid was really necessary? Of course, she was necessary as you cannot possibly allow three (3) children to run around without proper supervision in Disneyland, can you?

Those of you who have been there know that it is a big place and one can get lost in Alice in Wonderland’s maze or in Peter Pan’s Never-Never-Land.

I am sure the best part of Disneyland that Khir Toyo and the official delegates would have found fun and felts quite at home would have been the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Now don’t be naughty, that ride really is quite cooling and entertaining.

Fellow Malaysians, Khir Toyo only spent RM1.6 million. The Selangor exco is really making a mountain out of a mole hill.

I am quite sure all this has been cleared by Umno, ruling party. Look chaps, he has also been cleared by all relevant authorities and most recently by even the Umno disciplinary board and he even stood for election in Umno.

Be fair to Khir, his family, the recce team and even his maid. Honestly RM1.6 million is small potatoes to him and Permodalan Nasional Selnagor Berhad (PNSB).
