Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's new cabinet clearly reflects that he has lost confidence in the leadership of MIC President S Samy Vellu.

Samy Velu should take the cue and step down from his party post for his failure to convince the government that the Indians should be well- represented in the new cabinet

The MIC leaders should blame Samy Vellu for the bad treatment accorded to the party by the new administration of Najib Abdul Razak.

Barisan Nasional component parties started to revamp their leadership before and after the March 8, 2008 general elections ny handing over the baton to new and young leaders. Samy Vellu, though, is still clinging onto his power and refusing to pave the way for a new leadership.

The MIC has become a mockery within Barisan Nasional as the leader (Samy Vellu) has overstayed his welcome. He has always been made the butt of jokes by Malaysians.

What a shame!

It is a shame that the Samy Vellu is continuing to lead the party to destruction even after suffering heavy losses. Samy Vellu lost in a very humiliating manner at Sungai Siput on March 8 although he boasted that he could beat any number of candidates.

His defeat was most befitting for an arrogant leader and even better that it occurred on his birthday - March 8.

After V Manickavasagam died in 1979, Samy Vellu had held on to the MIC president's position till today. Is he going to lead the party until his last breath?

To further embarrass the party and the Indian community, his son Vell Pari is now eyeing for a top post in MIC and this move has the blessing of Samy Vellu who gave his open support despite Vell Pari being linked to the controversial death of TV drama actress Sujatha.

What is Vell Pari's contribution to the party? Just by being the son of Samy Vellu, does he think he owns the party and does he think that he has all the criteria to become one of the top leaders in MIC?

If we can make a comparison with the sons of other BN component party leaders who are involved in politics, Vell Pari is academically a failure as he did not excel in his studies.

It was rather nauseating to see Vell Pari raising his father's hand in a very joyful manner when the announcement was made that Samy Vellu was returned unopposed as the president of MIC at the party's presidential elections embarrass.

Vell Pari was said to be a candidate for the last general elections but his name was dropped due to his name being linked with the death of Sujatha.

Is MIC now the family property of Samy Vellu?

Before pointing the finger at the new BN leadership, it is high time that MIC members and the Indian community call upon Samy Vellu to step down immediately to save the party and the Indian community further embarrassment.

The party itself is half dead and will die in the hands of Samy Vellu if he does not vacate his position as party leader.
