I refer to the Malaysiakini report Najib: Not the time for another by-election .

Since March 8, 2008, there have been five by-elections, and now another one awaits the people of Penanti specifically and the whole nation in general.

Out of the the five earlier ones, three (Kuala Terengganu, Bukit Gantang and Batang Ai) were held because of the deaths of the elected representatives.

In the case of Permatang Pauh and Bukit Selambau, they were due to resignations. And now, Penanti will see another by-election due to Fairus' resignation.

In actual fact, Perak should see another three by-elections, again due to the three PKR representative who betrayed the trust of their electorates.

But these will not materialise due the recent decision of the federal court (no need for me to mention whether this was a right or wrong decision).

So there we have it, six PKR representatives had quit on the electorates since March 8.

This is sad indeed. I say sad because the people had worked so hard to put these representatives where they were so that they can make a difference.

They represented the alternative coalition Malaysians are looking to with much hope to bring positive changes and to fulfill the dream of ousting an Umno-dominated BN government.

Though I am just a mere man-on-the-street, I would like to advise the leaders of PKR to be careful not to stretch your luck too far unless they want to see the votes swinging back the other way (God willing, this will not happen).

Admittedly though, I will not vote for BN because voting any party in BN is equivalent to voting for Umno and I believe the majority of the people who had previously voted for PKR feel the same way - for now.

But mind you, PKR leaders, the 'for now' will not recur or last forever.

It would be wise for the PKR leadership to sit down, give deep thought to the goings-on and show some commitment of finishing the race before it is too late. I believe not only the bloggers are feeling the by-election fatigue but the people in general are too.

Trust me the Umno lead BN is beginning to capitalise on this. See what the newly-minted prime minister has said in the report above.

Don't be surprised if that political bankrupt, Dr Mohd Khir Toyo will be next to comment. After all, what else does he has?

Again, 'for now' the people will not buy into what Najib is trying to sell, but stretch it too far, the PKR leadership may have to really regret it.

So please stop quitting on us!
