A letter to Uthayakumar
I am glad you are free and have showed the courage of your convictions and exposed the cowards who still hold on to power to demonise the voices of reason such as yours. May your freedom be forever and your conviction firm.
My best wishes to your long suffering family who I hope can live a peaceful and decent life now. You are, Sir, an everyday hero and a towering Malaysian.
I read you are considering forming a political party. Please consider:
1) There is no shortage of parties and you can only add to the confusion. You have a high enough profile to rise in any chosen party to spread your message. Forming a new one will only be an exercise in ego building.
2) Consider changing the name of your grouping and take away the restrictive Hindu part of it. Your message is universal, your name should reflect it. The limited purpose of the Hindu in the name to attract a focus group is over. You owe it to your own group to spread the message wider.
3) Consider being a pressure group rather than a party so that your consent is sought by and given to deserving parties who promise to deliver justice. It is so much easier to remain true to your ideals this way rather than get directly into the cesspool of politics.
May you be guided by right and not seek the elusive might .
