I refer to the Malaysiakini report Dayaks furious over Entulu proposal .

This is the first time in 23 years I have had the slightest hint that the term Dayak connotes primitivity, uncouthness, and low class.

What a surprise! We thought it was sort of a convenient catchall name. The end of the report sums up Entulu's supporters' opinion thus:

‘For example, the Bidayuh, Kayan, Kenyah, Kelabit, Berawan, Bisayah, Lun Bawang and Iban communities go their separate ways and insist on having their own associations.'

This is merely putting a excuse on a sinister policy.

The idea is meant to come across as a liberal ‘We can all do our own thing, man.' The reality it masks is the perennial drive to divide and rule.

Meantime, the trend among Dayaks themselves is inclusive rather than exclusive.

They are intermarrying in every possible combination of tribes and their offspring are often accepted as say, Bidayuh in once place, and as Iban in another.

Besides, the Pure Aryan (of whatever colour) race model is so way uncool with Obama in the White House.
