It was yet another disappointing decision but certainly not a surprise. Come on, would any right thinking Malaysian actually expect a favourable verdict for Pakatan Rakyat (PKR). The fact that we got a favourable decision at the High Court was good enough for substantial numbers of Malaysians (and the world) to know who the legitimate menteri besar (MB) was (is).

So what now? Does PKR need to go to the Federal Court? The result is a foregone conclusion. If you ask me personally, I'd advise the legal MB, Nizar, not to appeal to the Federal Court. The result of doing so will only make Najib and Umno look good, which they do not deserve. Just let it go for a while and fight the battle a different way.

Since Umno dominated Barisan Nasional (BN) wants to hold on to power like a spoilt brat, even at the expense of the ‘Perakians', let us all allow them to do so. We have protested. We have worn black. We have gone to the court. Many have shown their dismay and got arrested. So the fact that the case is not taken up to the Federal Court does not really mean that we have accepted the Umno-dominated BN as the legitimate government of the Silver State.

PKR should continue to serve the people with all their hearts notwithstanding that they have been robbed by Umno/BN. We all know that PKR should be the ruling party. The people have spoken but Umno/BN refused to listen.

What the ‘Perakians' should do from now on is to enjoy the benefits that the Umno/BN government will have to churn out for the people to try to please the people with the hope that there will be a change of heart before the next general election.

If Umno/BN allocate more funds for schools, take it with a smile. If they allocate more land, take it. If they build more facilities for the public, just take them and enjoy them. But remember that the money for all these allocations belong to the ‘rakyat' not Umno (as they would want you to believe) and thus we don't need to feel obligated to Umno/BN.

Then, after a few years of enjoying the benefit, come 2013 or earlier when the general election is called for, we can then cast our votes to boot the Umno-dominated BN out, just like what we did in Bukit Gantang. Doesn't that make sense?
