Does one has to engage in politics in order to voice out one's opinion? Shaukat Ali seems to think so as he regards non-politicians like Kim Quek and Manjit Bhatia as unfairly voicing out their critical opinions from the safety of the sidelines.

Only politicians deserve to be heard, according to Shaukat. Those who are not should not try to influence others because they are 'safe' as they do not have to be responsible for their opinions. Although this implies that everybody else should shut up and listen, he regard this as the democratic way!

Try to think of people who are 'safe' in voicing their ridiculous opinions through the mainstream media and recall how opposition politicians have to be very careful with what they say as any of their statements can be manipulated by the government-controlled media.
