Until today, Lim Guan Eng has not come forward to explain why he allowed the transfer of Kampung Pala to the developer, just three weeks into his chief ministership.

He cannot keep silent while so many wild accusations are being leveled against him. I'm beginning to be skeptical of his sincerity and transparency.

He should reveal all the agreements signed between the state government and the developer so that the rakyat can make a fair and accurate assessment of the case.

If Samy Vellu calls Lim a hypocrite, he is an even bigger one.

Why must you wait till this critical stage to come and help? It was a problem created by the BN government. You were in a position to influence or object to the deal. Where were you then?

I remember Samy boasting of how influential he was. He claimed that with just a whisper in the ear of the prime Minister, all problems could be solved.

How did the magic of his whisper disappear in Kampung Buah Pala deal?

Being a minister for so long, I think he has forgotten how much land in Penang has appreciated.

Did he think that a mere RM3 million can buy back such a big piece of prime land? It may not be sufficient to buy even Khir Toyo's palatial home. Do not hoodwink the villagers.

The villagers are sad and upset that their land has usurped. Having exhausted their appeals through the courts, they must come to terms that they may lose it sooner or later.

Naturally they will not give up without a 'fight'. Yes drive a hard bargain by all means.

But one thing thaat is disturbing is that the villagers seem to blame Lim more than Koh Tsu Koon. In fact it is the latter who created the mess and should come back to clear the air.

Let me ask the villagers this question. Assuming that Gerakan was still in power today, would Kampung Buah Pala be still standing?

My guess is that the moment the Federal court ruled in the developer's favour, the village would have be flattened the very next day. That would have been the reality if BN was still ruling Penang.

It is not fair to keep on attacking Lim and his two deputies for a problem inherited from the previous government. Lim's accommodating attitude and patience is his undoing.

Lim could not possibly buy the land back and burden Penangites with a huge debt. If Samy Vellu can come up with a sum equivalent to the market value of the land, there may be hope yet.
