Justice for the victims of crime too, okay?

I refer to the Malaysiakini report Can there ever be justice for Kugan?

I am astonished at the language being used at the need to locate or to use the term ‘Justice for Kugan’.

I shall not stand as judge over A Kugan, as that has already been done by now for sure. However, can I request that we have justice for the victims?

No less a case is there to make that the people involved in Kugan's death be punished, but how the people who were traumatised and left badly injured by the work of car thieves?

Have we all forgotten the case of the man who had his finger cut off so that the alarm on his just stolen car could be de-activated? How about the case of the six-month pregnant mother who was bundled into her four-wheel drive before being raped and left on a deserted roadside in tatters?

And the case of this guy who had his expensive four-wheel drive stolen after which he was taken to an estate, beaten savagely, then had kerosene poured over him and threatened with a match?

Let me not tell you more as it will make for a real horror story. When the cops get these criminals, their overzealousness is sometimes unforgivable, really unforgivable, but it is only used to get more information from these car thieves whose mothers make them out to be university-going angels, mercilessly murdered by the police.

I recommend that all readers who make a compassionate plea for Kugan's murderers pay for their folly to also condemn the lack of justice given to the poor victims of car thieves.

Show more compassion to these victims. As one told me, you have never seen terror till you are a victim of these car thieves and if most readers have noticed, the rate of cars being stolen has been reduced and more importantly, the cruel ways of these car thieves have been stopped.

Those who condemn the police, take notice of another phenomenon , Ah Longs have gone underground and its been a while since we seen them and their cruel acts in the media.

When they are caught, should we have ‘justice’ for them too ?

I have not seen anyone praise the police for their work, and we can maybe guess why. Our opposition parties have demonised them, and for what?

If the opposition were not trying to grandstand, but work for the people so that they can be re-elected, the police will be left to do their work and crime will be reduced.
