I refer to the Malaysiakini report Unexpected 42% rise in non-Malay BN support .

The loss of non-Malay (especially Indian) votes in the Bagan Pinang by-election is partly due to Hindraf and its leaders’ call to vote against or refrain from voting to teach Pakatan Rakyat a lesson.

The Kampong Buah Pala fiasco also seems to have worked in favour of BN. Besides, some non- Malays have also been cheesed of with PAS chauvinistic manoeuvres in Selangor with Hasan Ali taking the lead in antagonising non Muslims with his Talibanistic rules and statements.

The cow head demonstrators’ actions seems to have been forgotten. Thanks to the mainstream media's reporting, the people in rural areas - where BN draws its support from - who do not have access to the Internet are ignorant of the real situation.

That is their loss; ignorance is bliss to the advantage of BN. How on earth can Malaysia progress and raise our standard of living if BN intends to keep such people poor and ignorant to exploit them only during elections and afterwards forget them?

It is only during elections that goodies are promised and the voters are bribed to vote for BN with the delivery of the promises.

The Election Commission closes one eye to this abuse of power and it is the rakyat's money which is at the disposal of the government of the day and used for such purposes.

Pakatan Rakyat should also take heed not to take the same path and be more people-orientated as it is the rakyat who empower them. Without the rakyat's support, they will never be able to defeat BN and he corruption that has permeated this society.

Malaysians are disgraced in the eyes of other nations for electing corrupt politicians to government.

Think what that will do for foreign investment intending to invest in our country. Can they trust our government and politicians?
