We are writing to you on behalf of all students of a medical college in Penang and their parents. This college needs help. The management is poor and only runs things for their own benefit. The facilities are poor but the fees are high.

Every time the students ask for more facilities, the management says no budget. Now, because of a lack of space, the CEO wants to shift the library to a rented building some distance away. Also shifting is the canteen and the students’ rest rooms.

The students have opposed this because if the shift occurs, the lecture theatres and tutorial rooms at the present location will be separated from the canteen, library and rest rooms - which will be one kilomtere away!

The students have protested to stop move but nobody wants to listen. The students have suggested that instead of moving the library, canteen and rest rooms, why not move the research office and the administration staff to the newly rented place?

But the management won’t listen. The CEO always runs things for his own benefit and that of his friends. In a college, student activities must always come first but not in the case of this college. Students come last.

Instead of managing the college properly, the CEO spends time on his own activities. He once organised a motivation talk by his friend and forced students to attend but it was examination time so very few turned up

The CEO got mad and said that the students would be fined if they did not have a valid reason in writing for not attending the talk. This is bullying. He has no business doing this. The CEO is supposed to be the servant of the students

The previous Penang state government stupidly gave them the rights to run this medical college. Any mismanagement, the parents and students suffer. The fees are high and getting higher and on top of that its degree not recognised in Singapore or Australia or New Zealand.

If there is an investigation done, many irregularities will be found. Lectures and tutorials are commonly cancelled, worse still at the last minute. This is not right for the students are also human beings.

These foreigners running the college now want to push out their local partners, raise fees even higher and exploit Malaysians. Stop this foreign colonisation of Malaysia and investigate why the previous state government brought them in.

Many Malaysian parents and families beg, borrow and even steal to educate their children. Why should we allow ourselves to be exploited by foreigners? We hope and pray that the Pakatan Rakyat government we elected can do something to save these students.
