The power struggle within the MCA is so typical of Barisan Nasional component parties. It is also a ‘tradition’ among MCA leaders to fight for the top post.

The latest move by Ong Tee Keat is the most disappointing and disgusting action ever done by any MCA leader since its formation. This is so because of two things.

One, he has joined forces with someone he wanted to purge because of unacceptable social behaviour. If in the first place he wanted to sack Dr Chua Soi Lek because of the sex scandal, how is it possible that he can now accept him?

Isn’t this too diabolical? It only proves us all wrong. For power and to remain in power, Ong is willing to go to bed with the devil. He has lost the respect all Malaysians had for him.

Two, he lost a confidence vote and his co-partner in his new scheme to stay in power also lost the vote. Now he is afraid to face the same people who showed that the majority in the party have no confidence in both of them.

Instead, he dropped all those who oppose him and now surrounds himself with people who will say ‘yes’ to him all the time.

The MCA Women and Youth leaders were elected by the two wings legally and this should be honoured by Ong.

They represent the leaders the women and youths want and to cut them off just because they disagree with you, the president of the MCA is like saying I do not need one arm and one leg because I have two of each!

You can go on Ong, but you are now not whole. I used to think of you as a man with principles, but I was gravely mistaken. I take back all I have said positively about you in the past.
