I refer to Malaysiakini report Provocative Utusan columnist 'gags' himself .

I have been following the articles and comments published in ‘ Utusan Melayu’ for the last couple of weeks and I noticed that the paper has been deliberately playing up on racial issues and upsetting many Malaysians especially the non-Malays.

Articles poking fun on the historical background of the non-Malays to a point of humiliating them is unacceptable and deserves condemnation. As a mainstream newspaper, it is unbecoming of ‘Utusan Melayu ’ to publish such articles as it may lead to a chaotic situation in the country.

What do we gain in creating hatred, mistrust and disharmony in a multi-ethnic and religious society like Malaysia?

It looks like the internal affairs minister is powerless or unwilling to take any action to stop Utusan's ‘rabid’ articles. If Utusan continues to publish highly sensitive and demeaning articles against the non-Malays in the country, it will only undermine the efforts of the prime minister to foster a better understanding and relationship among all the ethnic races in the country.

I suspect Utusan has its own hidden agenda. Could it be an attempt by certain quarters within Umno using Utusan to destabilise Najib Abdul Razak's premiership?

Otherwise how do you explain a mainstream newspaper like ‘ Utusan Malaysia’ being allowed so much freedom to publish highly insensitive and inflammatory articles and comments which are providing the ammunition and fodder for the opposition to attack Barisan Nasional?

It looks like Utusan is indirectly doing a great favour for the opposition by publishing articles that work against the spirit of the BN government's ‘1Malaysia’ policy.
