I refer to Malaysiakini report Police seek British help to find RPK .
Right-thinking people in this country must be wondering aloud what heinous crimes has been committed by respected blogger, Raja Petra Kamarudin (RPK) that he seems to be the most wanted ‘criminal’ in this country.
It seems that this cyber-blogger who exposed all the ills amongst our political leaders and their underlings is a threat to the nation’s interest like the late terrorist Nordin Mat Top whose reign of terror in Indonesia only ended after he was killed in a shootout.
For our police force to spend time and energy to extradite RPK - who seems to be holed up in an exclusive area in London - does not speak well of the priorities of our men in blue in tackling other pressing problems faced by the common people who worry all the time about their families’ safety due to rising crime.
Did RPK rip off public funds through dubious means? Did he commit gruesome murders which caused innocent people to be killed? Did he use government machinery to stifle public opposition towards the government? ,
Did he steal a jet engine and smuggle it out of the country for instant profit? Did he compromise the judiciary, the MACC, the Attorney-General’s Chambers and the police force in order for to allow the bigwigs of society to escape criminal prosecution?
The only crime the famous blogger did was to tell the truth about our leaders and their spouses misusing their high offices for personal gain and exposing these skeletons for the public to see. RPK has sacrificed his personal safety and well-being by being brave enough to expose all these misdeeds in his blog .
People like RPK and his ilk are doing our country a favour with their hardhitting writings exposing all the scandals that have occurred, all which in one way or another make our leaders aware that the old way of doing business will not do anymore.
RPK is a thorn in the flesh to those who use their high office for personal gain and even the present inspector-general of police is not spared and has had his alleged misdeeds written about in cyberspace. Even the premier and his wife are not spared RPK’s barbed comments on their shortcomings in running the nation.
Rather than waste their time on trying to extradite RPK from London, it would be wise for the police to keep our streets safe from criminals or work with other government agencies to fighting white-collar crime among those entrusted with public funds who are abusing their power causing billions of taxpayers money to disappear.
RPK has stepped on too many big toes with his intelligent writing. The present weak regime would like ‘eliminate’ RPK by either putting him in prison or incarcerating him under the notorious ISA.
Hopefully, the British government will not entertain our police force’s request to extradite RPK. The police are only doing this as he is a threat to our political leaders who are worried that his writings will cause them to lose the people’s support when the next general election is held.
As the neo-saying goes, ‘One man’s writing is another man’s poison’. People like RPK are like heroes and should not be treated like a common criminal just because they expose other people’s misdeeds.
Keep on writing, RPK and may our fervent hope for a better nation be achieved if the present leadership is toppled from its high office. Decent Malaysians salute you for your bravery in facing the storms of injustice in this country.
