I refer to the Malaysiakini report Palanivel dropped, Kamalanathan picked as compromise .

Really, with the way BN has selected the candidate for the Hulu Selangor seat, the whole BN ‘partnership’ is indeed a farce. MIC should reexamine its position in the coalition.

1. Umno is telling MIC members that the MIC deputy president is not fit to be a candidate. This is implying that MIC members have no ability to chose who should be their  leader.

2. Umno indeed has the final say on deciding who should represent the Indian community. The question arising from this is: ‘Can MCA or MIC or the other component parties have a say - or any say at all - as to who in Umno can or cannot stand for an election?’ The answer is obvious.

3. In spite of all the song and dance, the MIC leaders have no courage or the guts to stand up for what they believe is right;

4. This has set a precedent. The future for the other component parties in BN is really meaningless.

We all now have no choice but to examine whether we still want to support the other component parties in BN. This is a serious matter.
