I am a very strong supporter of PKR. During the campaign period of the Sibu by-election, I can see the unity and commitment of all West Malaysian fellow members from all the Pakatan component parties who are worked their fingers down to the bone giving BN the hardest time of their life.

Their hard work was rewarded sending Najib rushing for a midnight plane to flee from Sibu.

Everything looked positive in Sibu but on the other hand, PKR MPs were creating severe damage to Pakatan as well as the by-election during the crucial campaign period. Firstly, MP for Wangsa Maju Wee Choo Keong announced his resignation from PKR with immediate effect and this was followed by 11 MPs from PKR jointly publicising a 'yet to be proven' corruption case concerning a Selangor state-owned company, Kumpulan Semesta Sdn. Bhd (KSSB).   

These occurrences are a real heart breaks not only to all sincere members of PKR but also for all strong supporters like me. I just cannot reason out why these PKR MPs choose to create such damaging issues in the midst of the Sibu by-election. Besides having their personal hidden political agenda, I just cannot think of any other reason for them to do so.

If these MPs are sincere to their party, which is one of the component parties of Pakatan, whatever differences or dispute should be and must be withheld until the by-election is over.

Moreover, such matters should be reported to the Selangor state government for investigation by Selcat before going public. If any party or individual is found guilty, the state government will definitely launch a police report and hand over the case to the police and/or MACC for appropriate action.

I do not see any necessity for S Manickavasagam to publicise the whole matter before even informing the MB of Selangor, Khalid Ibrahim. Therefore I strongly feel that all these occurrences were done with hidden political agendas and it looks like the beginning of another round of crossing over.

Since Wee Choo Keong has chosen to leave PKR, there is no point illustrating further on his matter but the 'yet to be proven' corruption case disclosed by Manickavasagam not only caused damage to the Sibu by-election but also incorporates a longterm unrest in PKR.

I can foresee only two end-results for this matter  which either way will be damaging to PKR:

1. If the accusation by Manickavasagam against KSSB is genuine with solid evidence, all parties and individuals involved will be punished accordingly thanks to the Selangor government headed by Khalid Ibrahim. Although this outcome will gain credit for the Selangor government’s transparency, it will also strongly reflect on the serious differences within the party waiting for the right time to explode.

In the case the accusations are found to be irrelevant without any solid evidence and the parties and individuals accused are found not guilty, PKR will be led into further disgrace. Manickavasagam and all other PKR MPs involved in this matter will become a punching bag of 'political credibility bankruptcy' in the eyes of the public.

Moreover, even if not all, at least Manickavasagam will face a civil suit by KSSB for damages not to mention the other individuals who wrongfully accused. This will definitely hinder the political progress of PKR and increase unnecessary tension within the party which will eventually lead to the position of PKR in Pakatan being marginalised.

I strongly feel that these MPs headed by Manickavasagam owe Anwar Ibrahim an apology because without PKR and Anwar, they are just another layman politically.
