I refer to the Malaysiakini report Thousands rally against Israel in particular to the following remark attributed to the head of Umno Youth:

‘Khairy told reporters later that his group will not join the rally at the US embassy as it is billed as an opposition event.’

In my mind, one's abhorrence towards an act of dastardly belligerence by trained soldiers against unarmed civilians using, perhaps, ladles as their shield to ward off the planned military-style attacks, ought have no political hues to it.

Indeed, the comment made by this gentleman proves beyond doubt how ingrained politics has permeated each and every inch of our society, whence, nothing gets by unless ‘political considerations’ have been considered.

It pains me to notice such. Why can't we simply leave politics aside once and for all and say/do what is only right to be said or done?

If one were to use similar logic as the quoted individual, could one expect the Israelis commandos to first sieve who are those from a particular party and who is not, before they fired those terrible shots that snuffed the lives of innocent persons whose only crime, was, perhaps, that they wished to do what others prefer to only sit and think of doing.

Alas, let all humanity rise and call the unfortunate incident for what it is, ie, a blatant act of defiance of international law of engagement in an area clearly within international jurisdiction against a party of people who cares about others and are willing to do something tangible about it, by a state that assumes itself totally bereft of accountability once its ‘security’ is threatened.

Sadly, Israel shall surely have to pay dearly for this grossly uncivil act!

To the concerned YB, please, for once, jettison your political colours and behave like a member of humankind.
