I cannot describe in words the damage and harm S Samy Vellu has done for the Indian community. The reality is that Samy has put the Indian community 30 years backwards economically for the last three decades being the president of MIC.

SamyVellu is prostituting the dignity of the Indian in the eyes of the non-Indians; what a shame for the Indian community. The Indians who have progressed in life have progressed on their own merit except the cronies of Samy.

Samy has been too power-crazy in all affairs of the MIC where he has to have the final say despite having appointed professionals to make a decision. This is the cause of the disasters of the many MIC projects.

I salute the MIC deputy youth leader who started the ball rolling followed by the three other CWC members and finally the MIC secretary-general himself. I believe the rest of the CWC members are not voicing their frustration because of self interest and vested interests, meaning to say they are also to be blamed for blindly supporting the failing leader.

If (the CWC members) have guts, they could put out a vote of no-confidence against Samy. Well, sad to say they are either apple-polishers or have fear of being reprimanded by Samy.

The MIC delegates should also be blamed for voting in Samy as MIC president despite knowing the consequences. This group (the CWC and the MIC delegates) have shattered the Indian community for their own political and economic interests.

G Palanivel is the biggest apple-polisher and ‘yes’ man to Samy. He is not fit to take over from the MIC as he is not a good orator. The only person who is fit and genuine to take over the MIC Dr Subramaniam, who has the charisma and the leadership qualities. I truly hope GAS will achieve its mission.
