I welcome the news that DAP is planning to sue the defectors. I have previously suggested this many times as I believe this will be a good test case.

More than DAP itself suing for breach of contract, which I believe is going to be difficult, I suggest DAP gets it voters from that constituency to sue on their behalf. These MPs or state assemblyperson have made a promise – a contract – to their voters, who in return voted them into power. Now they have defected and the contract has been broken.

Our politics is now just about looking after yourself, not for service to others.

I feel extremely sad that politicians from both sides of the divide are wasting so much time playing for the gallery instead of getting down to the nitty-gritty issue of governing Malaysia and looking after our well being.

The country belongs to all – irrespective of special privileges – this nation belongs to all of us and the natural resources are for all of us to enjoy. I can’t really understand why after all this time the question of pendatang is still an issue, let alone debated.

My mum used to say that when the dog barks at the sun, the sun doesn’t really gives a monkey and goes about its business. Similarly we should just get on with our lives and not respond to bigots and those who really aren’t talking through their front end.

This country is a home to all races, no one can chase anyone away. The constitution guarantees that. When some misguided politician, ex-politician or NGO tries to play the race card, the best way to deal with it is to just ignore it.

May I please plead with our politicians to behave themselves in public and Parliament, and only discuss issues that are relevant to the rakyat . Please debate the economy, education, the lack of green lungs in Kuala Lumpur, the anti-consumer practices of many organisations, civil service delivery, the behaviour of government linked companies, the increasing national and public debts and so on.

The children are watching and they need good role models. Being in opposing camps in politics does not mean we should treat each other as enemies, because we are all Malaysian and love our country. Different opinion does not mean we are at war so be civilised and debate honourably.

Please do remember why we elected you and agreed for you to get paid a salary and various privileges. It was not for you to misbehave. Definitely not.
