The Buddhist residents of Bukit Tinggi, Klang appeal to the Selangor state government to grant a piece of land in Bukit Tinggi to erect a Buddhist temple.

This particular piece of land, measuring 28,000 square feet was recently reported in the Chinese press as being given to four Taoist organisations to be divided amongst them.

NONE If this is true, the Buddhist community in Bukit Tinggi is appealing that, for equity's sake, instead of the whole piece of land being given to Taoist organisations, half be given to Buddhists for them to erect a Buddhist temple.

The Buddhist community has collected at least 1,000 signatures in support of its intention for a Buddhist temple to be erected in this vicinity.

Speaking as a Buddhist resident in this area, there is not a single Buddhist temple to cater to my spiritual needs. The same applies to the other Buddhist residents.

The Buddhists, through Mudita Buddhist Society, Klang, applied for this piece of land in April 2009 to build a Buddhist temple.
