I refer to the Malaysiakini article Political Islam: Chua uses the wrong equatio n.

After reading the above article by Ong Kian Ming, he has clearly demonstrated himself as a theoretical and academic political writer as compared to a practicing politician like MCA president Chua Soi Lek.

Kian Ming himself had referred to Chua as a ‘a reasonably intelligent and savvy politician who was making the right noises and did some right things after defeating Ong Tee Keat in the MCA presidential election’.

Kian Ming must understand that Chua Soi Lek was addressing MCA grassroots leaders at a state convention in Kedah and not lecturing PhD students.

To cite examples from a book does not require mathematical equations or scientific formulae although it sure does makes one look very intellectual.

Just wondering if Kian Ming applies equations and formulas to justify every citation or fact he uses in his research? Life does not have to be so complicated or academic.

Kian Ming’s commentary was typical Barisan Nasional and MCA-bashing, which can be traced back since to the March 8 general election in 2008.

What is wrong in appointing Deputy Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Minister Chua Tee Yong, who was a chartered accountant and chief financial officer of a government-linked company?

And also former human resources minister Fong Chan Onn - who is also a PhD holder in operations research and industrial economics - to look after MCA’s party assets?

Based on their recommendations, the party assets are now managed professionally by a company, which obliged to report to the party leadership.

By offering himself to brief Chua over a cup of teh tarik, Kian Ming displayed a typical patronising attitude of a junior academician that he is wise enough to teach.

Kian Ming may be a good lecturer but his commentary was off balance enough to imply a personal agenda to promote Pakatan Rakyat.
