If you had made payment for your house electricity bill of RM 200 twice by mistake, would the extra shown in the following month's electricity bill?
The answer is ‘no’. It only shows one payment to offset the month's billing charge. What happens to the additional payment that was made?
TNB adds the extra to the existing charge. This doesn't show in the following month's electricity bill. However, it appears in your account statement as follow:
Electricity bill = RM400
First payment = RM200
Second payment = RM200
Credit balance = 0
This had happened to me. I had signed up for the auto-debit facility with TNB using my Maybank Mastercard in 2008. However, I had completely forgotten about it.
So I continued to make payments via Maybank2U using my Maybank VISA. After I discovered the mistake two days ago, I called TNB Careline to inform them about this and was informed that my credit balance is RM0.
He told me that I had split my payment into two for each month’s electricity billing. I had tried many times to contact TNB’s account billing department but nobody picks up the phone. Even TNB’s headquarters operator was fed-up as no customer's call could get through.
