The beauty about DAP is that we’ve got too many great leaders in the party. Sometimes is hard to decide who is a better choice to lead the party. But no matter what, we still need to chose the best  candidate amongst them all.

Teresa Kok

Teresa Kok is actually a very good choice. She works well with most people. She a nice person and got the right experience to lead the party. But the only problem is that we are worried that she is too busy as she is easily holding more than 10 positions or tasks now. We needed a leader who’s got more time to lead the state because Selangor DAP must move forward to be the strongest party in Selangor. Most importantly in the next state election Selangor is one of those states in danger and we needed a person who has more time to face this battle.

Au Yong

He actually is not a weak leader as most people may believe. He is just a very nice and gentlemanly leader. We should respect his dedication to the party that before March 2008 was still the opposition; he is still there loyal and sincere to lead DAP Selangor at such a young age. The only problem with Au Yong is that although he is among the most upcoming potential leaders to lead Selangor, I thin it is not in this round. But I believe that in the future he will be a great leader for Selangor. He needs more time grow and stabilise himself.

Ronnie Liu

As bad as people want to think about Ronnie Liu, in reality he is one of the greatest persons I have ever known in my life. I believe many things that happened to him today is maybe just the public perception and it does not reflect the truth or reality sometimes. Perhaps he is just one of those good politicians who is lacking by luck. He is actually very capable to lead the state but in politics sometimes public perception is very important. Even if it does not reflect the truth and reality, yet DAP cannot afford to risk the party image.

Tony Pua

He seems to be a national hero now. Although he allegedly cannot work well with the local veterans and members because of his egoistic personality and also although he fails to handle both Rocket Publication and Rocket Café well; although some believe he will chop those people that do not listen to him off; but he is still one of the DAP star leaders. He rose very fast and performed well. Because he is doing so well we believe he will be next on the DAP National Leadership. That’s why we need him to go further than state level. We needed a leader who can focus on the state.

Teng Chang Khim

The only problem with Teng Chang Khim is that people used to say he is a lone ranger. He never works with others and most importantly he doesn’t have the grassroots support. But today this is no longer a problem. He seems to be working well with different types of people in the party. He has formed a strong Rainbow Team that includes the youth, professionals, lawyers, businessmen, corporate people, senators, MPs, Aduns, women, local counci , veterans, local leaders and etc. His team of people reflects the true unity of DAP so that the state leadership will not be monopolised by just MPs and Aduns.

The grassroots this round is surely with him. To go for any war and battle and to face our enemy Barisan Nasional we needed a huge number of soldiers and Teng Chang Khim has got the backing from the soldiers now. Compared to most leaders in Selangor now, although they are very capable war generals, they however are lacking in soldiers.

But for DAP’s future we need a leader with huge amounts of soldiers. Teng has already been in Selangor for four terms and served three times as opposition leader. He had brought down three Selangor menteri besar. He is also amongst the best speakers in DAP. And to achieve our vision for a Malaysian Malaysia, Teng manages to master all languages well.  Most leaders still could not speak our national language well.  He is also the one non-Malay speaker in Selangor in 50 years of history. So why not give him a chance ?

Is not that we say he is better than other leaders in Selangor. Or maybe I shall say he is a more suitable leader to face Barisan Nasional at the moment?

Rainbow Team vs Unity Team

Yesterday both camp had organised separate dinners. Rainbow team managed to have 60 tables compared to the Unity Team’s 48 tables.

Teng want us to forgive all the allegations, dirty tactics and accusations by the opponent camp. He wants us for the real unity of DAP, to forgive and forget. He want us to embrace them.

    

But for DAP future’s he wants the state leadership to have different types of people in the team. This is the real meaning of unity.

Even if some of the great leaders from the opponent camp loses Teng promises that the Rainbow Team will still appoint them in the team to face Barisan Nasional.

Dearest DAP members, this is the time and we want real changes in DAP. Selangor DAP leadership needs to be restructured and reformed. We want representatives and voices from different groups of people within the party. Be it old or young. Be it men or women. Be it youth or veterans. Be it ordinary local councillors or senators. Be it ordinary members or the professionals. This is going to be the most colourful team in Selangor DAP’s history.

This is the real of meaning of change. This is the real meaning of democracy or unity.

Forget about the Ronnie Liu and Tee Boon Hock issue. Forget about the Teng and Teresa issue. Forget about the Unity team and Rainbow Team.

It is about the benefit and future of our party. It is about DAP.  For DAP we needed a colorful line up where voices from every sector can be heard and different people with different skills and expertise can contribute to the state and also party.
