I’m a student at SMK Taman Tasik Ampang and I do not doubt Zaini Mohd Zin is a caring and open-minded principal.

About the incident that happened yesterday (Jan 17), I was at the school assembly with all my classmates. She was trying to ask the students to look at history and stop the misunderstanding that arises from the ‘p’ word. I think what she said was based on historical fact - people from the lowest caste in India were discriminated badly, and coming to Malaysia was a chance for them to be free as there was no caste system here.

She just want to share that. She didn’t even state that the Indians are ‘p’. I just hope that I can do my part in supporting our headmistress. She has done nothing wrong. Even my Indian friends agree with me. I am not trying to protecting her, but I guess if I didn’t speak out, who will?

She doesn’t deserve all this. People should see the other side of the truth. I am writing this email on my own. I guess she is brave enough to apologise in front of all of us, although it is not her fault. The purpose of Malaysiakini is to show people what is hidden behind the news, and the hidden truth in this matter should be exposed.
