I am offering some food for thought on the Star article today ‘Chua: Pakatan lacks expertise’.

True, political leaders are supposed to provide visionary, inspiring, competent and authentic leadership for the nation.

However, they cannot function by themselves, can they?

Can they claim all the credit (just like certain goal-scorers tend to claim all the credit without recognition given to those who assisted them)?

Political leaders would, if they are humble and sincere, admit their need for consultation with various experts in the civil service to give them good advice or recommendations for their consideration, as political leaders (whether Pakatan Rakyat or Barisan Nasional) do not have all the requisite knowledge, skills, experience, wisdom or even good habits.

In short, BN also needs the support from experts in the public sector, as well as good collaboration and co-operation from the private sector.

If Pakatan Rakyat were to wrest federal and more state power from BN in GE13, Pakatan can likewise count on all the experts' views and recommendations from both the public and private sectors to help them govern the nation as best they could, or perhaps even better than BN.

So, what is MCA president Chua Soi Lek talking about? Your staff or analysts are free to pursue the above matter.
