Six pledges politicians can make for 2012
Join me in wishing that all our Malaysian politicians campaigning for the forthcoming general election will adopt the following pledges as a self declaration, to be posted on their website, blog or Facebook;
First - I pledge to love and treat all citizens of Malaysia with respect, irrespective of race, colour, gender and religious affiliations.
Second - I pledge to think and act 24 hours a day on how I can do good deeds for the country’s benefit.
Third - I pledge not to attack, scold and treat my fellow citizens as if they are dumb stupid children.
Fourth - I pledge the moment I see an extremist and racist fellow politician blaring his horn, I promise to confront him and ask him to tone down his extremist and racist view.
Fifth - I pledge to honour my loyalty to my political party subject to my commitment to uphold my first to fourth pledges.
Six - I pledge if for any reason I resign, jump to another party or am sacked from my existing party, I pledge to uphold my commitment to my first to fourth pledges should I want to continue by career as a politician.
