I concur with Ong Kian Ming's analysis and discussion that Pakatan Rakyat will not win the coming GE. While I doubt the data and statistical results prescribed by Ong, many of the pessimisms articulated by Ong have certain degrees of plausibility.

First, Pakatan at the current moment does not have sufficient people of high calibre and dedication in pursuing a cause for all Malaysians to get rid of racialism, and work towards a united Malaysia.

Obviously these exclude Lim Kit Siang, Lim Guan Eng, Anthony Loke, Khalid Samad, Nizar Jamaluddin, Dr Zulkifli Ahmad and Mat Sabu.

I cannot visualise others (in general) within the confines of Pakatan with a vision to foster multiracialism and rid of corruption.

Second, each of the components of Pakatan is still enshrined in its individual political philosophy and much engrossed with its own ideology and political belief.

For example, PAS may appear accommodating but its core is still Islam, and to a certain degree, ‘Malayness'.

Third, there are still questionable individuals within the components of PAS.

Thank goodness Hasan Ali and Ibrahim Ali are no longer in PAS but there still remains, for instance, the Kedah MB, a former VP and even the current president of PAS.

Time and time again the leadership of PAS would endeavour to propagate agendas at the expense of non-Muslims and moderate Muslims.

The recent Valentine's Day celebration is an example. For PKR there are too many Trojans and Umno clones for us to deal with.

Fourth and last, I still do not visualise what the core of Pakatan is. Is it about economics, or multiculturalism, or education, etc?
