Oxford Fajar has been made aware of a potentially sensitive question in one of our history topical practice titles, Effective Practice Sejarah Tingkatan 5 .

The question appears in Chapter 4 and relates to the topic on ‘The Federation of Malaya'; specifically the sub-section ‘1948 Federation of Malaya Agreement'.

We have reviewed the question and its context and recognise that it is open to misinterpretation. The question should have been more precisely formulated to address its historical context.

Oxford Fajar apologises for any offence caused, and we are taking steps to rectify the matter immediately. We are amending the question and a revised page will be made available on our website by Friday, March 9, 2012.

The revised question will also be used in the next reprint of the title. Should any member of public wish to return a purchased copy of Effective Practice Sejarah Tingkatan 5 (ISBN: 9789834704452) we are happy to offer a refund.

Details of how to obtain the refund will also be posted on our website by March 9.

Oxford Fajar's aim is to provide appropriate, accurate and effective books for students across Malaysia. We work with experienced authors and we also have in place a detailed review and editing process.

It is a process that we are continually improving. In instances where oversights occur we are committed to taking prompt action.
