What makes Jeffrey so angry about women's groups? I see his logic for defending People's Progressive Party Youth chief T Murugiah, but not his preposterous call — which can only be made by a simpleton — to allow non-Muslims to practise polygamy.

His intention may be noble, but his suggestion is moronic to say the least. Take the instance of trying to root out the problem of prostitution. If it is legalised like in Holland, women will have more job options. But it is the ridiculous way to solve the problem.

This only encourages women to sell their bodies but not help them to find other more decent jobs that will not expose them to a volley of sexual health and infidelity problems. And what makes Murugiah and Jeffrey think that polygamy is the solution to the problems of illegitimate children and mistresses in our society.

Polygamy only sprouts another set of problems. How many men really have the means to support more than one family? Can families be happy if they are financially stressed and abused? It is really absurd of the two 'noble' men to think that it is not wrong to allow a man to stray after marriage. This is the most insufferable and chauvinist suggestion to be made in eons.

I am definite most people, men or women alike, do not relish sharing their partners. Wonder what men will say if women instead were allowed to poligamise?

I am outraged at the mistreatment of Chu Mei-Feng, the former Taiwanese politician who is the centre of a sex video scandal. The blatant double standards we practise show that sex equality still has a long way to go. It is at times like these that women should come out to support her.

She may have raging hormones that made her a sex machine, and no one has to endorse her behaviour but many men are also highly sexed If it is okay for a man to show that kind of behavior and get away with it, a woman should have that right too. This is not about some Western-type feminism which Jeffrey seems to be against, but plain old sexism and injustice.

Chu was unfortunate to have such a vicious friend who thought nothing of the consequences that would befall her by secretly videotaping her sexual romps. I personally do not condone Chu's behavior but that there is no reason for the country to shun her because of her sexual appetite.
