I refer to the the said column, Chu Mei-feng: Why the fuss? and in particular to the paragraph:

The main problem with some of our Malaysian political leaders is that they think that the majority of their fellow citizens are naive, immature and perhaps even stupid, resulting in the notion that they have to be taught every time to distinguish between right and wrong, good or bad.

I hate to say it, but I think our Malaysian political leaders are right about Malaysians being naive, immature and stupid — otherwise, why do you think such politicians are re-elected every time?
