I am not trying to minimise in any way Chandra's contribution to the struggle for justice. He is an eminent academician and that is admitted the world over. But he cannot deny that he was hardly the moral and upright politician he portrays himself as. He is a miserable politician, and this fact would have come to the fore in whatever political party he ventured into.
