Spore diversion ploy again
Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been exposed by the Swiss authorities as not telling the truth on the Perwaja investigation.
His appointed successor is silently being challenged in Umno and the wider Malay Malaysian community.
Puteri Umno is in serious trouble after the massive resignation of top leaders within one year.
The economy only muddles through, with significant unemployment and under-employment of graduates.
So, he 'warns' Singapore probably with the intention of diverting attention and popular distrust on him and his regime. He might even engineer the escalation of anti-Singapore sentiment in the Malay-language newspapers to 'unite' his fragmenting party, and re-direct popular anger and frustration at neighbouring countries, especially Singapore.
Malaysians and the world must be foretold of the old tricks Mahathir used during the height of the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis.
Opposition parties must not be trapped into a 'patriotic' circus again.
