that MCA veteran Lee Kim Sai be appointed the chairperson of the proposed membership verification committee. Is Lee necessarily neutral and impartial just because he has retired from active politics? I do not think so.

Lee, who was once a deputy president of MCA, attempted to challenge party president Dr Ling Liong Sik but failed miserably. Youth chief Ong Tee Keats contempt of Ling is mostly because of Lees influence: Ong was a protege and political secretary to Lee.

The best choice of chairmanship is still, as another writer suggested, MIC president S Samy Vellu.
