I refer to the letter from Rohana S, extolling the supposed virtues of Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore over Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad. I must say that I am not part of the "decent Malays and Muslims" that Rohana said are all over Lee for his leadership.

Malay Singaporeans got to where they are today through their own efforts. It has nothing to do with Lee and his cohorts in PAP, although like Mahathir, both would like the Malays to think that we owe everything to both of them on either side of the causeway.

Both leaders come from the same pack. There is corruption in Singapore as well, although it is more sophisticated and packaged differently here. And because we are small in Singapore, with free speech and free media highly censored, there is less chance of it growing into a scandal as in Malaysia.

Dua-dua ni sama saja-lah (Both are the same).
